NEW DEMAND-RESPONSIVE From Tuesday 31 August 2010 villages to the west of the A143 will have access to a demand-responsive transport service which will enable them to visit villages to the south-east of Newmarket (e.g. Cowlinge/Lidgate). The key points about this service are as follows: It is an 11-seater vehicle which will be driven by a paid employee of the Voluntary Network Newmarket The vehicle will operate between 7am and 7pm between Mondays and Saturdays inclusive Customers book the service by calling 0845 604 1802 between Sam and 4pm Monday-Friday up to a week before they wish to travel. To avoid disappointment we advise that they book their outward journey at least 24 hours in advance of when you wish to travel. Please note, a same-day booking service will be available soon. Customers can arrange the point at which the driver will pick them up to commence your outward and return journey when they call the operator Concessionary fare passes and Explore cards can be used The service will transport passengers to an appropriate point within the area of operation at which they can join timetabled bus services that will take them to their final destination. Where there is no suitable timetabled bus service to take you to your final destination, the demand-responsive vehicle will do this (other passengers' needs permitting).
